Street Rod Chassis

The Street Rod chassis is another one of those elusive little known parts of a street rod that is considering an upgrade for the more conservatively priced model. It does not matter if your street rod is the top hat style or another style, it is important to add a good set of Street Rod Chassis. These modifications can really transform the way your car looks and sounds.

If you have ever been up on a curvy hill or road with a beautiful curve in view, you will notice that at certain times the horizon can seem so close that the road appears to wrap around the curves in a never ending circle. This effect can be obtained by simply changing your street rod chassis. By switching over to the Chevy engine your ride will appear far more sporty and comfortable. You will also find that it goes faster and you will be amazed at how quiet it is. This is due primarily to the fact that the new frames and engines do not strain the new Billet metal body panels as much as the stock cars.

The next upgrade you may consider when building your street rod is upgrading the side rails. By changing over to a Chevy billet center section, you will be able to add side rails that extend far past the factory side rails. By doing this you will be able to make your car look much better externally and internally, while making the rest of your ride comfortable and safe.

Probably the most popular upgrade is the new rear crossmember. This is actually the part that connects the front end to the back end. By changing over to the Chevy hot rod frame you will be able to eliminate the middle section and put forward a much taller piece that runs parallel to the frame. This new design gives better support and much better handling. Also, by replacing the rear frame rails you will have better clearance in your vehicle as well as better clearance when backing up.

The last upgrade you may consider for your street rod is the replacement of the original frame. Some people just decide to upgrade the frame by moving it forward or rearwards to make it match the newer frames. There are a few options to choose from, such as switching out the original front and rear ends to match your new chassis. You can also go with a shorter and wider chassis. Whatever you decide you will be happy with the results.

When you have finished your research into the type of street rod chassis you want, you can easily find a decent selection of frames online. A quick search on the internet should give you a list of vendors with great deals on stock frames. There are many options available so you will be sure to find one that will fit your car. Just remember to check the size of the cross member before purchasing the frame so you get one that will fit correctly. Remember to get a frame with steel ball joints, not plastic cross members, to prevent frame rust and corrosion.
