I absolutely hate cooking. (don’t even get me started on how I feel about cleaning) In fact, my goal is to grow my business to the point where we can afford to order out or have a personal chef prepare meals that I just have to heat up. Obviously, I don’t want to order fast food or junk all the time. But, being able to afford to eat dinner from our local co-op hot bar or some of the amazing farm-to-table restaurants in our area would be a dream come true! Making sure that my family has healthy meals that are delicious and nutritious is a big goal of mine. I just don’t want to be the one cooking them! When I left my career to work from home and grow our business my main motivation to do so was to spend more family time and stay connected. And, eating dinner together is a big part of that. One of the best parts of my day is when we all sit down and share a meal together. I definitely recognize the container for family togetherness that eating dinner together provides. But, I’m just not one of those people who wants to be in the kitchen making the meal. There are so many things that I could do with that time that I would enjoy so much more. For now, I make sure to create a meal plan to save time and use my time blocking to continually improve my work at home productivity and schedule time for making meals. And, I am always on the lookout for some really great kitchen hacks that will make things efficient and get me outta there as quickly as possible! Did you know that a fresh egg is easier to peel when it’s hard-boiled? In our house, hard-boiled eggs are a staple item. They are the perfect high-protein snack. Easy to make. And, everyone loves them. I always have a Tupperware container in the fridge with at least a dozen peeled hard-boiled eggs. But, standing at the kitchen sink forever trying to get every little bit of shell off of the egg is about as irritating as finding that a diaper went through the washing machine (my youngest things the washing machine is a wishing well for all the things). So, I use this little trick to make sure the eggs are just the right amount of old to make them easy to peel.
