Resident Evil 2 Remake may well end up being the biggest launch in the entire Resident Evil franchise so far, if the latest Steam concurrent player data proves reliable on a grander scale.

Resident Evil 2 Remake 30-minute demo was far more popular than most had expected it to be, and the concurrent player count showed that 3 times as many people played the REmake 2 demo than played the Resident Evil 7 demo. The fanbase is clearly eagerly awaiting the game’s release.

According to GitHyp data, peak playing session for REmake 2 demo saw no less than 11k concurrent players enjoying it, while RE7 demo peaked at about 4k concurrent players. From this, we can project a rather successful release for REmake 2!

When it comes to concurrent player information for Resident Evil, #1 is currently Resident Evil 7 with 20k players, with the runner-up being Resident Evil 6, sitting at 12k. With the REmake 2 demo being so much more successful than any other previously featured Resident Evil demos, it’s almost a given that the full release will be wildly successful, too.

Resident Evil 2 Remake is set to come out on 25th of January, and if you’d like to check out the 30-minute demo for yourself, be sure to take a gander at the game’s Steam page. If you’d like to extend the limited playtime featured in the demo, we’ve got a handy guide for that, too.
