Google Maps now pairs biking and ridesharing options as transit directions
Today, Google announced that you can now mix cycling and ridesharing directions within your Google Maps trip. This new feature, unfortunately, is hitting iOS first with Android support launching “in the following weeks.”
This new feature will allow you to create a trip within Google Maps and add in cycling or ridesharing instructions, which previously you couldn’t do. This will be helpful if, for example, you are using Maps to navigate an unfamiliar city’s public transportation system and you find that the closest train stop to your destination still involves a 20-minute walk. You can tack on ridesharing instructions or cycling instructions at the end to nail down that last mile.

Once again, this feature is rolling out to iOS users only today. Despite the Google-supplied GIF above depicting a Google Pixel 2, you won’t find this on Android for a while.
